The Health and Social Development Foundation (HESED) works on breaking the vicious cycle of poverty and places vulnerable groups on the path of development.

How are we different?

Exiting the cycle of poverty is a mission made possible with our successful Model for integrated development (MIR) in Roma communities. In the short run, the model prepares young people for successful participation in the labor market. In the long run, it ensures early child development so children can receive a good education and realization in society.

Team

We are a multiethnic, multidisciplinary team comprised of psychologists, social workers, educators, medical specialists and collaborators from Roma communities.

The children enrolled in our programs have five times greater academic achievements compared to other children in Roma communities who do not have access to early child education and development programs.

We affirm a new type of social infrastructure based inside isolated communities. The centers’ clients receive direct access to our development programs.

We have 20 years of experience and a team of over 75 specialists. To be even more successful we need a greater scale for our projects. We currently have four community centers, that have changed the lives of hundreds of people. We still need dozens of centers to meet the needs of thousands of people.
