Equestrian Sports and Social Skills

We launched the project “Promotion of Equestrian Sports and Development of Social Skills”, together with Equestrian Club “Olympic”.

It includes Roma youth and children from the Fakulteta and Filipovtsi neighborhoods in Sofia. The youngsters will form a caring attitude towards horses, learn the types of equestrian sports, what horses love and how to properly care for them, and the healing qualities of horses.

45 children and youth interested in horse riding and horse racing, attended the first part of the project – theoretical training. This seminar allowed participants to get acquainted with the history of equestrian sport, to understand more about the proper feeding and caring for these noble animals, how the horse “heals”, and about the benefits of communicating with horses. This session started new friendships between the participants and layed the beginnings of new adventures.

The project is financed by Sofia Municipality and is a part of the campaign “Sofia – European Capital of Sport – 2018”.
